Reaction-Wheel Cube
Single-vertex balancing architecture

My process moves from requirements to analysis to physical evidence—with every claim grounded in what has actually been designed, built, or measured.

Selected work

Three projects, three modes of engineering.

Reaction-Wheel Cube — Single-Vertex Balancing

Developing a 150 mm cube intended to balance on one corner using three mutually perpendicular reaction-wheel axes and spacecraft attitude-control principles.

Engineering work

Calculated preliminary wheel inertia, angular momentum, and motor-torque requirements while comparing BLDC motor and controller candidates.

Packaging result

Integrated three orthogonal Ø70 mm wheel modules and electronics envelopes, then optimized placement to maintain 3.16–3.18 mm wheel clearances.

Tools

SolidWorks · interference detection · rigid-body dynamics · component trade studies

Current state

Architecture and preliminary CAD packaging are complete. Fabrication, programming, balancing, and physical testing are the next phases.

LabVIEW Pressure-Vessel Instrumentation

Built a two-channel measurement workflow to capture hoop and axial strain from an instrumented thin-walled pressure vessel and compare the response with mechanics-of-materials predictions.

  • Designed a custom LabVIEW VI for taring, real-time acquisition, visualization, and data logging.
  • Integrated dual strain-gauge and amplifier channels and converted amplified voltage into engineering strain.
  • Evaluated experimental results against analytical predictions using uncertainty and error analysis.

Air Engine Design & Manufacturing

Machined and assembled a functional air engine while translating drawings, tolerances, and process plans into finished hardware.

  • Produced components with a manual lathe and vertical mill, including drilling and tapping operations.
  • Verified critical dimensions with precision measurement tools throughout fabrication and fit-up.
  • Applied tolerancing, fits, fastener selection, and manufacturing-process planning to resolve assembly interfaces.

About

Engineering breadth, grounded in the details.

I’m pursuing a dual B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida. I’m most engaged when design decisions have to survive both analysis and hands-on verification.

01

Design & analysis

SolidWorks, static structural FEA, MATLAB, component and interface definition, engineering trade studies.

02

Build & test

Manual machining, precision measurement, mechanical assembly, test planning, instrumentation, and data acquisition.

03

Team engineering

Aerobody design support with Solar Gators, plus experience communicating technical ideas as a mathematics instructor.
